Civil Division
The Bonner County Sheriff’s Civil Division is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday and you can reach us at (208) 263-8417, extension 3046 or by email at civil@bonnercountyid.gov. The Civil Division is comprised of a Supervisor, one Civil Deputy and one Civil Clerk.
The Civil Division’s primary function is to assist the general public and state entities in serving civil and criminal court documents to individuals regarding civil and criminal actions being brought against them,
including tax warrants, protection orders, writs and other orders from the Court, notices, small claims, subpoenas and summonses.
The Civil Division CANNOT provide any legal advice, only procedural information. If you need legal advice, you must contact an attorney. You can also visit www.courtselfhelp.idaho.gov for more information.
We CANNOT do any research for you or use our resources to serve your paperwork. You must provide all the necessary information. The better the information you provide, the better the chances of successful service.
Please understand that while we will attempt to serve your papers, criminal papers take priority over civil papers, and civil papers are processed and served is the order they are received. This means, despite our best efforts, your papers may not be served as soon as you would like. It may be beneficial for you to know that many documents such as Small Claims Summons’, Summons and Complaints, Subpoenas, Orders to Show Cause and Notices can be served by anyone over the age of 18, who is not a party to the action, or by using a private process server. If you would like a list of private process servers please email civil@bonnercountyid.gov as it changes frequently.
For information on fees and what is needed for service of Writs and Summonses please contact us at civil@bonnercountyid.gov or 208-263-8417 Ext. 3046.
